The IBM Netfinity 8500 8681-8RY takes the PC100 Registered ECC SDRAM DIMM II's. To upgrade the system beyond 8GB you must purchase the IBM Memory Expansion Card p/n: 28L4454. The Memory Expansion Card MUST be configured identically to the standard memory card. Memory RAM Type, and comes installed with 512 MB (removable) of RAM. You can upgrade your IBM Netfinity 8500 8681-8RY to up to a maximum of 32 GB RAM, the system has 16/32 sockets to install RAM, already with 512 MB (removable) standard RAM installed.
